Poor Abe!

I've done a lot of posts lately! It's probably because I've been so bored. But I still don't want school to start! Which is on January 3rd, which is the anniversary of when we got Abe. I won't even be home to celebrate lol! He won't even remember so what he doesn't know won't hurt him, right?

Abe hasn't been himself since we brought him back from the kennel on Thursday. His tongue is really hot, his nose dry, and he sleeps ALOT more than he used to. I dunno if it's the change of environment for 5 days, but he's sick :( Plus, he also puked on our carpet this morning. (EWW!) And on our good carpet too. Mom wasn't too happy about that. Thankfully I wasn't awake to see it myself, because I slept in till 11:20! Haha. I <3 Christmas Break!

7. you read this list & keep nodding and smiling

8. as you read this list, you think about sending it to all your friends

9. and you were too busy to notice # 5

Sisters & Music

Yesterday was a day full of sisterhood! It was really weird because my sister and I usually don't get along that well. Most of the time we spent goofing around to her new iPod speaker, dancing like lunatics and all that. It was fun. We were definitely slap happy, giggling at every single thing. Ha. Ha ha. Then we had the idea of putting the blow-up mattress in Mikayla's room for me that night, kinda like a sleepover, even though we both live here! We watched Material Girls, a total chick flick about two rich girls losing all their money and learning that no matter what, they'll always have each other. It seemed really cliche that we were watching that the same time we had a "sister's day", I guess. Today she has a friend over for a sleepover, so the spell is broken. It was fun while it lasted though :)

A friend showed me this really cool song by Nelly Furtado today while talking on AIM. It's called, "Afraid". It really has meaning. Read the lyrics here:

This song is pretty true. So many people are afraid to be theirselves, and there is so much of that in Middle School. I wish people just didn't care. I wish I didn't care what people thought. I think mostly everybody is afraid.

Christmas? Gone Already?

Ok guys I'm really sorry I haven't filled you in in a while. Thursday we got out of school for Christmas break and our family had our Christmas then. We went out to eat at Logan's (my favorite restaurant) while "Santa delivered the presents". I could barely keep still when we got home. I looked under the tree for my name from "Santa" and saw Jack, Noah, and Mikayla's names on big boxes. Mine was on a little mini bag. At first I was dissapointed but when I opened it I found out it was a $100 gift card to abercrombie!!! I was really excited and surprised when I got it because I know my mom hates that store but hey, it's Christmas. There was also a little hand-made coupon inside from Mom that said, "Plus 1 shopping trip with no eye-rolling or complaining from Mom!" Even better! I guess great things DO come in small packages! I also got a fuzzy jacket from Old Navy (sooo warm!) and a bunch of movies: Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest, Pride and Prejudice, and Phantom of the Opera. The whole family received Invincible, and for the boys, AirBuddies I think. Lol. Also Abe got an Iowa Hawkeye collar! WHOO! GO HAWKS! Haha. They have a bowl game against Texas on Saturday...we're gunna get slaughtered, but hey, we can still hope, can't we?
So Thursday was really exciting. On Friday we had to get up bright and early to go to Iowa. Abe couldn't come though so we dropped him off at a kennel. Poor Abe. Did I mention it's a 9 hour drive to our Aunt and Uncle's in Cedar Rapids, Iowa? NOT very exciting. We watched 4 movies on the way there. Haha. Then from Cedar Rapids we took a 3 hour drive to Ankeny on Christmas Eve, and then on Christmas day a 3 hour drive to Sioux City, and then late on Christmas Day a 3 hour drive to Bancroft, Iowa, where my Grandparents on my mom's side live. Then, on Wednesday, bright and early AGAIN, a 12 hour drive back to Michigan! Let's do the math:
9 hours
+3 hours
3 hours
3 hours
12 hours
30 hours of driving!!!!!

Wow. We also watched 10 movies. If we traveled 30 hours all together, what's the average amount of movies we watched on each drive? Lol JUST KIDDING, we're not it school now, are we? Even though there is less than a week left! Not fair! Ok folks that's all for now! Have a great 6 days left of break! <3

Video Project

So in Eastern Hemisphere my teacher, Mr. Schoren, gave us this project on East Asia. We either have to write an advertisement about an invention from East Asia or record one on an audio tape or a video camera. Of course, I chose the video project. I barely EVER get to use my parent's "new" video camera (it's small and 3 years old) so this was my chance. Today my partner came over to my house to work on it. We did the invention of silk. It was very interesting. My partner had to dress up like a Chinese person. (Hint: chinese shirt w/ shoulder pads.......eww) I quote my partner: "We BETTER get an A on this." It was very silly, but informative. Did I mention that the whole class will see this tape? I might just die of embarrassment. Tell my family members and friends that I love and will miss them.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Okay. It's been rainy all week and I'm starting to get sick of it! I mean it's December in Michigan! So much for a White Christmas, even though it's 2 weeks away practically. We had snow, even a snow day, but now it's all gone and mushy and gloomy and raining. I feel my poetic side egging me on.

You're pretty in the Spring,
You're pretty in the fall,
Now it's December,
and I don't like you at all!

Swim Meet?

Ok so Saturday I woke up very nicely. For some reason I had the feeling that this was going to be a good day, but how could it be? I had a swim meet that day. I felt kinda feverish so I took my own temp. and I was fine. So then I went to the swim and my friend was there. We kinda had technical difficulty w/ the starting pads and electrical stuff. The swim meet was already postponed, but then the power went out! It was like pitch black, and people started screaming. The person in charge said that obviously we weren't going to have a swim meet. My friends and I started like jumping up and down cuz we REALLY didn't want to swim, if we did it would have been six different races!! And for a swimmer that's a lot!! My friend then invited me over to her house before we would go to the team movie for swim. We took pictures w/ her Razr of each other-it was really funny! I would describe some but they're too embarrassing...if my friend posted those at school or something I would dig a hole and live there for like my whole life!!! Then at 7:10 we went to see Unaccompanied Minors w/ the team, it was actually really funny! I thought it was gunna be a really cheesy xmas movie but it wasn't. Then I slept over at her house. Did I mention that she has a snake?!?!?!?! Her name is Hope and shes soooo small and beautiful! She's really calm and won't bite you. We made like a maze for her but it didn't exactly work...she would just slither over the top of the lines! haha. We finally went to bed at like 12:30 (after hours of talking and laughing, I won't give details cuz a girl hasta gossip what she's gotta gossip!) and I had to leave in the morning at like 9:30. Saturday was so much fun! Personally I'm not looking forward to school on Monday, but I'm gunna live in the moment! <3

My Snow Day (in a poem form)

Waking up at 6:45.
Snow Day!
Sleeping in till 9:00.
Outside the earth is blanketed in white crystals.
Are those footprints?
Brothers shoveling snow.
I've got chores to do!
Working, working,
Not stopping till everything is done.
Ding Dong!
Marie-Claire is at the door.
Snowballs and snow angles,
and a snowman named Earl!
Play time is over,
But I'm really excited!
Helping mom cook,
it's almost time!
Ding Dong again!
I think I can't breathe.
They're here!
Playing downstairs,
Boys stop killing each other!!!
Yummy lasagna,
and then fun dart tag
It's time for the hot tub
Let's run out in the snow!
Ouch it burns...
Never doing THAT again...
Playing twister
It's time to say goodbye
My snow day
was the best day EVER.

Today is Saturday. Today I am being lazy and eating my halloween candy. I can't get Phantom of the Opera music out of my head, because my friend and I watched it twice, all the way through, at our sleepover. Everything is quiet, and I can hear the computer humming. It's kind of freaky, because usually everything is loud: the boys playing, Abe barking, some kind of musical instrument practice. But now everything is quiet. Almost everyone is sleeping, my Dad on the couch, my Mom in her room, Abe at my feet. The boys and Mikayla are outside where I can't hear them. Call me crazy, but now that it is quiet (FINALLY) I want it to be loud again. Don't you always want what you don't have?

Happy Birthday Jack!!!

Wow there are a lot of birthdays this month!! Lol. Today my little bro is turning 7...I can't believe it!! I was so excited when I found out I had a little brother, and now it's been seven years *sniff sniff*. My mom and dad always say he is so much like me...that's why we argue so much! haha just kidding. He's the coolest little guy, so athletic and smart (just like me) and don't let me forget funny! I can't wait to see him grow up even more...okay now I'm sounding like a mom! (which isn't something to be embarrassed by, all you moms out there) For his birthday he got an acoustic guitar (LUCKY!!!!), a nerf gun dart tag thing, which HURTS if you get hit without the padding on (Jack has already established that by hitting my sister "accidentally" in the neck) some Iowa sweatshirts, and some other little things. I know this is my brother's special day...but I can't wait until it's MY birthday!!!:)

Happy Early Birthday, Abe!

Saturday is my dog, Abe, 's birthday! I know it must not be that exciting because he's just a dog (as my mom says) but it's still exciting! He's turning one. I just watched a tape of when he came home for the first day...awww! I can't believe how much he's grown. And become more of a phsyco. Haha. This is what a biography of Abe would look like...
Name: Abe
Birthday: 11/11/05
Breed: Goldendoodle (Golden Retriever, Standard Poodle mix)
Occupation: Family Dog
Hobbies: Jumping in the pool (on purpose), Chasing squirrells, eating anything he can find (even nasty things) rolling in poop, jumping on people, nibbling on fingers, chasing his tail
Specialties: Making you feel better when you're down (because no one can be as much as a dork as him haha just kidding)

There ya have it-well most of it-about Abe. To really understand him I think you would have to live with him, as I do. Happy Early Birthday, Abe! Love ya! <3

I'm Ba-ack!

Whew it feels good to be blogging again! Wow so much has happened since like July so where to start...
School has been going good, not too hard or too easy. Tons of homework, though expected. My least favorite subject in Spanish, not because it's hard but because my teacher is >:(! But you can't go through school without having an evil teacher so you can't complain...
No softball since July, it's not the season for it. I dunno how I'll survive! Haha just kidding. I did do swimming for my school though, that was fun ( and easy ) but now I'm doing it on a team not related to school. It's harder, and we have super snore meets every 2 weeks. Blah.
Last Friday was the school dance!! So many good good songs though. They were all very old, like "Temperature" by Sean Paul and "Dontcha" by the Pussycat Dolls. Oh well, I had a good time.

Wednesday, July 26, 2006

My mom wants me to take dance lessons!! I really don't want to, dance is SO not my thing! People just show off and its NOT a team sport. Plus, I'm not the world's best dancer either. My friend who does dance showed me a few stretches that you're supossed to do, and they KILL! I'm still recovering from trying to do some myself. Today our visitors are coming from Hong Kong, China. Yippee. I like having visitors except I don't know the company that well and, well, their kinda awkward. We're going canoeing and renting a pontoon boat up at Higgin's Lake so I hope that will be fun. Hopefully the visitors will adjust to "nature" since they live in a huge CITY like Hong Kong. If I get bored I will always have my trusty book. On Monday my friend came over for a sleepover and I watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest for the 2nd time, and it was her 1st time. I love that movie! The second time around I understood it more. Kitkat was asking every 3 seconds what the heck was going on so I'm glad I've seen it before. Tomorrow is my last double header softball game, so wish me luck!

Double Header

Last nights double-header softball game was really tiring. I did okay, I guess. My mom said when I was last at bat that I would get 20 bucks if I hit it to the green, and I did! The first game we won 15-8 and the second we tied 14-14. The first game I pitched every inning and struck out 6 batters. A lot of people hit off me though because I pitch fast and when people hit it it goes far. The last game I was 1st base, shortstop, and the last 2 innings I was catcher. I thought I would hate it with all that gear on but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The really bad thing about it though is that the facemask is so sweaty. Nasty! When my family got home from the softball games we had cake for my dad's bday(double chocolate, which I made, YUM!) and opened presents. My present to my dad was the cake, because I couldn't think of anything else. Tonight I'm going to the Dixie Chicks concert in Detroit. I'm sooooooooo excited even though I don't really know them that well but I just love the concert atmosphere.

Higgin's Lake and More...

Last Sunday I went to Higgin's Lake to swim and hang out. The lake is really pretty and you can walk out really farr and it's still shallow!! The only bad part about it is...the water's freezing!! The next day I went to Detroit with my cousins and they had to leave on a plane back to Kansas. Tuesday we spent just cleaning the house for our next guests to come...a person who my Dad has known since pre-school and his wife and daughter. Wednesday I had to go to swimming in the morning, viola lessons, and then to a swim meet! By the end of the day I was pretty pooped out but I still had to do chores before the Hubbards would come later that night. On Thursday we swam because it was like 90 degrees out!! My girl Kasey came over a little later that day and we went to Parkside Market and saw kitkat's bf there! He hasn't talked to her or seen her since like the last day of school. We called kitkat and told her. We planned the next day to go to the Plymouth pool and see him. The day was supossed to work out perfectly, but it didn't because Elliot (the bf) broke up w/ kitkat over a text message because she was too clingy. NOT TRUE!! It started raining which fit in with the mood. She went home and my parents had a dinner party and banned us to downstair where she forbidded us to go upstairs while the party was happening. It was boring watching movie after movie and finally we all fell asleep. The next thing I knew I was waking up in my own bed at 10:30 in the morning and now I am wrapping up this blog.

Saturday, July 08, 2006

Hey, I just got back from Springhill and it was the best experience of my life!!! Everything and everyone is so fun. My personal favorite was the blobs, like this big air thing on the water that you jump on to make the person on the front go flying! Then you go up to the front of it and get blobbed! It was so fun because my counselor, Jaime, blobbed me and I went sky high! The 3hr horses was more fun than I thought it was going to be. My wrangler, Amy, was really nice and patient. My horse's names were Ozzie, a white horse with black spots and is a pretty good horse except that he loves to eat and pass gas too much! The other horse's name was Strawberry and so was sooooooooo beautiful. She has a strawberry blonde mane and tail and is a pro in the ring and on the trail! We learned how to post, trot, and canter! That's in between a trot and gallop (I think that's how you spell it) and is really fast. It's too bad nobody can learn how to gallop at Springhill. The other activites we did were mountan biking, the gusher, (water slide into a lake) the zipline, which was SWEET!!!, and tons of other stuff too. The food, though, was HORRIBLE and the moment my mom picked me up we went to McDonald's for some good food!! It was kind of ironic though because at the same time we were watching "Super Size Me", a really disgusting movie!!!! Today my cousins and I are going to see "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest". I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! I hope I can come to Springhill next year!!!

First Blog Entry!!

This is my first blog entry...yay!! I'm sooo like 24 hours I'm going to Springhill-a Christian camp-with my buddies Kathryn and Ali. We're doing 3hr horseback riding...I hope that'll be fun! It's mmy first time going on an overnight camp w/no parents so I'm SO ready for the freedom! I need to finish packing though. I'm bringing tons of stuff. I wish I could bring my dog, I'm going to miss him so much! On Thursday my softball team had 2 games and won both agaisnt a good travel team. I pitched the first inning and did okay, I struck out 5 batters total, witch isn't that bad. I hit a double into the outfield. Overall I did mediocre. I like to play pitcher, 1st base, and shortstop. I wish I was doing softball at Springhill, but my friend Kathryn hates softball and Ali isn't too fond of it either. Ali and I really wanted to do water sports cuz like college students throw you around so fast on the tubes! Kathryn was scared of the lake water though cuz she thought there were leeches in there. Ya right! Yesterday I went to the Country Club with Kathryn (she brought me as her guest) and we had fun swimming and tanning. She got a new phone...a motorola razor! It's awesome because it can record songs and then you can put them as ringtones for people. For when I call her it's "Buttons" by the Pussycat Dolls. I WANT A PHONE SO BAD!!! Anyway, today my Dad and I are going to go to a dog show at 1:00 and then to dinner and then to a movie. He never used to do this stuff with me but since my Mom and siblings are out of town, I get the good treatment! This morning I am soooo sore because yesterday my dad and I went on a 3 mile run. I was so proud of myself! Then my dad brought me bike in his truck while he was going to work and dropped me off at family video. I got Pride & Prejudice, (I <3> that movie!) and Eight Below. I loved that movie!!! It made me cry. Overall yesterday was fun.
